Create CNAME Entry for Branded Returns Page in Namecheap

Add host value


Let us suppose you wish to set the custom returns page URL as https://returns.brandname.com .So, the value of the host filed will be returns.


Create CNAME entry


  1. Go to Namecheap > Domain List > Click Manage button next to your domain > Advanced DNS > Add new record
  2. Consider www.domains.com as your website and enter details as follows


Host: Based on the above example, returns


Points to: domains.aftership.com


Domains is a placeholder for your brand's name (i.e., antiquevase),

TTL: Leave it unchanged


Custom domain: https://returns.yourdomain.com


  1. Save all changes to make sure the new CNAME record is properly listed in the records.


Additional considerations


  • Changes to DNS settings might take some time to propagate, anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours.
  • Ensure that the target URL you are pointing to is set up to handle requests to your branded returns page.
