Customizing Warranty Replacement Order Prefix and Suffix

Overview



As a merchant using AfterShip Warranty, you have the ability to customize the order name for warranty replacement orders. This feature allows you to easily recognize warranty replacements and link them to the original order, making it easier to manage and track these replacement orders on Shopify. Whether a warranty claim is submitted with or without a Shopify order number, AfterShip allows you to apply a prefix and suffix to warranty replacement orders for better clarity.

Warranty replacement order prefix and suffix


Prefix


Customizable: You can set a custom prefix for your warranty replacement orders, with a maximum of 10 characters.
Default Prefix: WTY-
Example: WTY-#1001-1 (The first replacement order for order #1001)

Suffix


The suffix corresponds to the number of warranty replacement orders count on the original order.
Example:
Original order name: 1001
First replacement order name: WTY-1001-1
Second replacement order (replacement of the replacement): WTY-1001-1-1

Warranty claim submitted with Shopify order number



If the warranty claim is submitted with a Shopify order number, AfterShip will apply the following logic:
Prefix: You can customize the prefix (max 10 characters), with the default prefix being WTY-.
Suffix: The suffix is a number indicating the count of replacement orders. For example:
a. The first replacement order: WTY-#1001-1
b. The second replacement order (replacement of the first replacement): WTY-#1001-1-1

Warranty claim submitted without Shopify order number



When a warranty claim is submitted without a Shopify order number, the order number for the replacement will be generated using a combination of the prefix and the RMA number:
Prefix: Customizable, with a maximum of 10 characters.
Example: WTY-C84WN2CP
Suffix: The suffix will be counted to reflect the number of replacement orders. For example:
a. First replacement: WTY-C84WN2CP
b. Second replacement: WTY-C84WN2CP-1

Configuring the warranty replacement order prefix



Follow these steps to enable and configure the warranty replacement order prefix for Shopify orders:

Log in to your AfterShip Returns dashboard.
Under Add-Ons, select Warranty.
Click on Warranty Policy.
Scroll down to the Replacement order processing.
Enable the toggle for Shopify replacement order prefix.
In the Prefix textfield, enter your desired prefix (upto 10 characters).
Click Save to apply the changes.
